The Abduction

The scene opens with a field of stars. Alexis' ship, "Worthless Fool", suddenly emerges from hyperspace. The camera pans to reveal the planet Najarka in the foreground. The majority of the planet's surface is the dingy white color characteristic of a glacier-covered world. A narrow band of dark green vegetation girds the planet's equator, a sharp contrast to rest of the shining sphere. "Worthless Fool" approaches Najarka and settles into a descending orbit.
CUT TO: The cockpit of "Worthless Fool"…
ALEXIS: We're approaching the dayside. Watch the sensors.
ULRIC: We're coming out of the shadow. Scanning for other ships.
CHAAR: You know, I heard something about Najarka once. I wish I could remember what it was.
ALEXIS: Just keep an eye on the power consumption. I'm taking her down into the atmosphere.
ULRIC: Sensors are picking up a large concentration of metal on the surface.
CHEV: I've got that, too. The metallurgical scan shows non-natural alloys present.
ULRIC: Can't get much at this range. Can you take us in a little closer?
ALEXIS: No problem. I'm reducing our glide rate.
ULRIC: That's better. I'm getting more definition now. Hmmm…. It appears to be-
CHEV: That's an IMPERIAL BASE!!
HARN: What!!?
ALEXIS: Are you sure!!?
ULRIC: He is correct. Note the garish but functional hexagonal configuration. However if you--
ALEXIS: (excited) Ulric, switch to full-sphere active scanning! Chaar, get to the gun pod! Everone hang on! We're getting outta here.
ULRIC: Wait! Wait! -- As I was starting to tell you, the radiation signature's way too small. It's not using any power.
CHEV: He's right.
HARN: There's no transmissions coming from it either; no activity at all.
CHAAR: Now I remember. One of Tarakhan's personal slaves told me that there was an Imperial base on Najarka.
HARN: Tell us something we don't already know.
HARN: They did? Why?
CHAAR: It was too dangerous.
HARN: Why?
CHAAR: I never got a chance to find out. Our conversation was interrupted and I never saw her again after that.
CHEV: How did this slave know all this?
HARN: There's a droid coming.
CHAAR: Tarakhan treated his household slaves like furniture. He always talked freely in front of them
ALEXIS: Do you really think we should land?
ULRIC: She's right. I mean, if something scared away an entire Imperial base…
GM: The homing transceiver, set on maximum range, begins to beep.
CHEV: The transponder is still on the planet. The Rebel agent could still be down there.
ALEXIS: What's the reading?
ULRIC: Straight in. Somewhere near the abandoned base.
CHAAR: Looks like we're going down after all.
HARN: Great. Setting down on a strange planet that's home to something that drove away the Empire to rescue someone we can't even recognize who may already be dead.
ALEXIS: Didn't we just leave this party?
